This case showcases a Nordic-style whole-house customization project—let’s explore it together with the BOSNIE editorial team!
The biggest challenge for small apartments is insufficient storage space. To address this, we designed the open-entryway cabinet as fully enclosed—leaving only a compact countertop and hanging area—to handle all entryway storage needs plus some clutter from the living and dining areas.

Upon entering the apartment, you step directly into the dining area. The original floor plan did not include a dedicated dining space; however, the homeowner explicitly requested one. We therefore converted the corner previously allocated to the living room into a built-in banquette seat and shifted the entire dining zone inward, preserving a clear passageway beside it.

The living and dining areas feature an open-plan layout—a classic approach for small apartments that minimizes partitions and maximizes visual openness and airiness.

The television is mounted on the wall, seamlessly integrated into the cabinet directly opposite the sofa. The upper wall cabinets and lower base cabinets together store approximately 80% of the living room’s everyday items, resulting in a significantly tidier appearance.

Although the living room has no balcony, its excellent orientation ensures abundant natural light and outstanding airiness—sunlight reaches the sofa each morning, and even indoor plants thrive beautifully.

This compact kitchen is linear in shape, necessitating a single-wall (galley) layout. While its workflow isn’t as efficient as U-shaped or double-row configurations, this layout maximizes usable space and offers superior storage capacity.

The bathroom has only one small window. To enhance brightness and visual openness, we used two distinct tile patterns—one for the walls and another for the floor. Due to spatial constraints, the vanity and mirror cabinet are relatively compact and may offer limited storage. We recommend storing infrequently used items in the entryway cabinet—or adding a narrow rolling cart beside the right side of the toilet—to substantially increase accessible storage.

The master bedroom is comparatively spacious; its light-gray walls lend depth and airiness to the space.
