From the entrance, you can immediately notice the oak wood in its natural tone, setting a gentle and soothing ambiance for the entire space. At the foyer, vertical lines are combined with a water-patterned hollow round window, while elegant ornaments guide your first impression toward a deep and romantic classical atmosphere.
The design visually strengthens the connection between the original large living room and the entryway corridor. The extensive use of negative space enhances the overall sense of openness, fully showcasing the advantages of the spacious layout.
Extending into the dining area, even though it primarily serves a functional purpose, it still evokes a subtle sense of time and place. The pairing of stone and wood, along with the interplay of light and dark tones, not only preserves the regional character of the materials but also maintains a soft, comfortable color palette.
In the bedroom, modern elements take center stage. A clean, minimalist layout is complemented by well-planned storage solutions. Designed around the homeowner’s lifestyle, the thoughtful arrangement of wardrobes, dressing tables, side tables, TV cabinets, and other furnishings brings the experience firmly back to contemporary practicality—a rich yet understated ensemble.
Looking back at history, we see that different eras exhibit distinct stylistic characteristics. For example, the Tang Dynasty favored opulence and splendor, whereas by the Song Dynasty, both furniture design and spatial arrangements had become increasingly simplified, emphasizing restraint and subtlety as core expressions of Chinese culture. In my own spaces, I repeatedly employ patterns and symmetrical compositions—both as a continuation of tradition and as a deliberate reduction of unnecessary ornamentation and complexity.
As designers reflect on the evolution of culture, they integrate its essence into their work. The accumulated depth of culture guides design, while thoughtful design, in turn, helps sustain and further develop cultural traditions.
